Spirit Board Rarity Guide

Spirit Board Rarity Guide

Compare Green, Blue, Purple, Yellow, and Red Spirits: direct stats, set bonuses, bonus lines, and how to choose a replacement.

The current Spirit Board is not a placement puzzle. Each character equips up to three Spirits, and the game handles their form as they grow. To compare two setups, always check the same three things: direct Attack, bonus lines, and the matching-colour bonus.

Quick colour comparison

Each value is the direct HP / Attack / Defense from one Spirit.

Spirit Colour Size 1 Size 6 Damage Boost at 6 / 12 / 18 cells
Green Spirit Green 1,763 / 117 / 58 2,278 / 151 / 75 +0.5% / +1.0% / +1.5%
Blue Spirit Blue 2,398 / 159 / 79 3,099 / 206 / 103 +2.0% / +2.5% / +3.0%
Purple Spirit Purple 3,262 / 217 / 108 4,216 / 281 / 140 +3.5% / +4.0% / +4.5%
Yellow Spirit Yellow 4,438 / 295 / 147 5,736 / 382 / 191 +5.0% / +5.5% / +6.0%
Red Spirit Red 6,038 / 402 / 201 7,803 / 520 / 260 +6.5% / +7.0% / +7.5%

The same set bonus also gives the same amount of Damage Reduction. It uses the total size of Spirits of that colour: one size-6 Spirit or three size-2 Spirits both trigger the first threshold.

The six growth shapes

These are the shapes the game uses. From left to right: size 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, then 6.

Colour Visual growth
Green Green Spirit size 1 Green Spirit size 2 Green Spirit size 3 Green Spirit size 4 Green Spirit size 5 Green Spirit size 6
Blue Blue Spirit size 1 Blue Spirit size 2 Blue Spirit size 3 Blue Spirit size 4 Blue Spirit size 5 Blue Spirit size 6
Purple Purple Spirit size 1 Purple Spirit size 2 Purple Spirit size 3 Purple Spirit size 4 Purple Spirit size 5 Purple Spirit size 6
Yellow Yellow Spirit size 1 Yellow Spirit size 2 Yellow Spirit size 3 Yellow Spirit size 4 Yellow Spirit size 5 Yellow Spirit size 6
Red Red Spirit size 1 Red Spirit size 2 Red Spirit size 3 Red Spirit size 4 Red Spirit size 5 Red Spirit size 6

What size really changes

Size Direct Attack Bonus lines
1 or 2 increases with each size 0
3 increases 1
4 increases 2
5 or 6 increases 3

Size 6 therefore raises direct stats and can advance the matching-colour bonus, but it does not add a fourth line.

Beyond Red: rainbow bonus lines

Red is the highest colour of the Spirit itself. Rainbow is not a sixth Spirit colour: it is the highest quality of a bonus line after it has been mastered.

  • A size-6 Red Spirit stays Red: its direct stats and set bonus do not become a new colour.
  • Its three bonus lines can be improved independently to Rainbow.
  • Size 6 does not open a fourth line. It keeps three lines and enables their quality to be improved.

The real late-game target for a damage dealer is therefore three size-6 Red Spirits, with nine useful bonus lines, ideally all Rainbow. The set bonus remains the Red set bonus; Rainbow only raises the strength of the relevant bonus line.

Full sets: the readable gap

Three size-6 Spirits of one colour give nine bonus lines and reach the 18-cell threshold.

Three size-6 Spirits Total Attack Damage Boost
Green 453 +1.5%
Blue 618 +3.0%
Purple 843 +4.5%
Yellow 1,146 +6.0%
Red 1,560 +7.5%

At the same size, a higher colour always has higher direct stats and a better set bonus. A size-6 Blue set is therefore ahead of a size-6 Green set before bonus lines are compared; the same is true at every colour step.

Full Green or small higher-colour Spirits?

There is no universal rule such as “Purple always beats Green.” Compare the full change, not one item.

Setup Direct Attack Lines Set bonus
3 × Green size 6 453 9 +1.5%
3 × Blue size 1 477 0 none
3 × Purple size 1 651 0 none
3 × Yellow size 1 885 0 none
3 × Red size 1 1,206 0 none

Small higher-colour pieces can bring much more direct Attack, but they can also remove nine lines and a set bonus. They are neither automatically better nor automatically worse.

The in-game decision

When replacing a Spirit on a damage dealer:

  1. Compare the total Attack of all three Spirits, not just the new item’s colour.
  2. Count the bonus lines gained or lost.
  3. Check the matching-colour threshold before and after the change.
  4. Keep the setup that improves those three points together.

Three size-6 Red Spirits with good lines are the maximum for direct stats, set bonus, and line count. Rainbow lines are the next late-game step. Before that point, the best piece is the one that gives the best total for that character, not automatically the highest-colour piece.

Green through Red are line qualities. Rainbow is the highest quality of a mastered line, not a sixth Spirit colour.
