Investment Guide

Several progression axes, each with a different bottleneck. The one to plan around is Character Star rank — it gates which Innate passives a character has access to at all.

100 Character Level cap EXP scrolls + gold
★5 Star rank cap Innate 3 unlocked
Lv.4 Skill cap Ult; actives cap at Lv.3
1

Character Level

1 → 100
High priority

The continuous power axis. Each level adds HP / ATK / DEF. Levelling uses EXP scrolls and gold.

Cost / materials

EXP scrolls (story and daily content), Gold (story drops, exchange).

2

Character Star (★1 → ★5)

★1 → ★5
Critical priority

The skill-slot gate. Star rank controls which of the three Innate passives are active — Basic and Ultimate are already on from ★1. Innate 1 unlocks at ★2, Innate 2 at ★3, Innate 3 at ★5.

Cost / materials

Duplicate copies pulled from banners, or shards converted from duplicates.

Worth knowing

For an SSR DPS, the gap between ★2 and ★3 is often where the kit "comes online". ★5 is the long-term target but rarely a day-one one.

3

Skill Level

Lv.1 → Lv.4
High priority

Separate from Star rank. Levelling a skill keeps its mechanic identical but raises the multiplier and shortens the cooldown. Active skills cap at Lv.3, Ultimates at Lv.4.

Cost / materials

Skill materials from daily content and event drops.

4

Stand progression

Stage + Level
High priority

Mirrors character progression but for the Stand. Stand stages step up in discrete tiers and unlock the Star Tree branches; Stand Level scales continuously between stages.

Cost / materials

Stand-specific fragments from the corresponding World Boss and from event drops.

5

Star Tree

Stat + passive nodes
Medium priority

Each Stand Stage advancement unlocks more Star Tree points to spend. Branches typically split between flat stat nodes (HP / ATK / Crit Boost) and a capstone passive unique to that character.

Cost / materials

Star Tree points earned passively as Stand progression advances.

Where each layer lives in the game

  • Account Level — the master gate. Unlocks the daily activities that feed every other axis.
  • Spirit Realm — the per-character grid layer, the biggest mid-game power jump after stars and skills.
  • Currencies — what to spend, where to earn it, and which shop drains which dailies.

F2P pacing

  1. Get your main DPS to ★3. Innate 1 and Innate 2 are usually where a kit becomes recognisable — and SR dupes are cheap enough that ★3 is realistic on an SR unit early.
  2. Push Character Level until daily content unlocks. Don't sit on low-level fodder once daily clears are out of reach.
  3. Level your main DPS's Ultimate first. It scales as a single big multiplier — the highest return per skill material.
  4. Stand progression next. Stand Stages unlock Star Tree points; the stat nodes feed straight into the damage formula.
  5. ★5 is a long-term goal, not a near-term one. A second character built to ★3 is almost always worth more than a third star on an existing unit.
